Pretty standard Malaysian place. Ordered my favourite, roti with a side of curry - that was delicious. Also had bak kuh teh and it was meh... still on my search for an amazing bak kuh teh in Vancouver. Skewers were good tho. It's a cute restaurant. A really nice place to have a super long lunch where you can chat for hours, which is what we did. We never felt rushed by the staff to leave, the noise level is perfect for conversation - no loud music to shout over :) Was there for lunch on a weekday.

I've literally dined there twice within the past week. The service is good and the ambiance not-overbearing. The quality of the food is good as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone craving Malaysian cuisine. It is quite authentic.

I heard about this place from a friend. Is was pretty good; I only wanted something light for breakfast, so I only got the roti with a creamy curry dipping sauce, but I was still pretty full after. Tried some of my friend's chicken as well; in short it was smooth and quite flavorful. I will probably visit again to try something else.

Good Malaysian cuisine and a nice variety of items. The place is very cozy so be prepared to wait. We waited 25 mins.Overall the dishes were good.Hainanese Chicken 4/5 - succulent. Tofu 2/5 - did not really understand it.Chicken skewer 3/5 - just as expectedRoti 3/5 - just as expectedCurry Platter 2/5 - Very price but also the meat was very dry.The menu does have a nice variety of items. I do want to go back and try some of the other items.

The Rendang Beef is so tender and flavorful as is the House Special fish. Cozy with very attentive and friendly service.

Penang deserves a much higher rating 4.8+ . Very high quality entrees very consistent throughout the menu. Restaurant is very cosy and clean with great decor. Staff are very prompt, organized and friendly. Authentic Malay dishes for any occasion. Go support this hidden East Van gem!

Family ordered take-out for several entree dishes from the Rupert location. Our experience eating in restaurant at Penang Delight Marpole and other family members' experiences eating at the one on Rupert were positive. That's why we were quite disappointed with our experience with our take-out order. Portions were surprisingly very small for all dishes relative to expectations based on previous dine-in experience. It's too bad as the food itself was reasonably tasty. Perhaps its was just an off-night but I can't recommend ordering take-out. Again, my family and I have had positive experience at Penang Delight Marpole and Rupert for dine-in but today's take-out experience left us wanting.

Terrible food. Way too salty. Ordered 4 items tonight and everything was over salted except for the roti. Ordered sambal green beans...got salted green beans with garlic. Im malaysian and these dishes arenare even close to anything malaysian.

Authentic delicious Malaysian style food. Service is alright, but the food makes up for it. They also have a fantastic atmosphere it's quite cozy. I would recommend getting the Seafood meegoreng, or the the beef rendengi. They also have delicious fried fish with mango. And they do have vegetarian options. Though the staff are stingy with giving any extra sauce.

This restaurant is a gem for those who love south east asian food, specifically Malaysian food. The food is authentic. The price is fair and the service is good.

The service was prompt and quick, however the servers seemed a little annoyed by us, likely because we came in a with under an hour left until closing. However, the food was overall good, I really enjoyed their laksa as it was spicier(still too mild for my taste) than most places, and they also used egg noodles I addition to vermicelli.

Very expensive Malaysian foods. I went there a few years back and because of good memories, I travelled long distance in the heavy rain on Feb 01, 2020 to get to the Rupert location. I found that prices have jumped 50%. Things that were $10 per dish are now $15, really expensive. Quality and ingredients have also changed and services have gone down too. I will not be back!

Penang delight has the best Ice Kachang in Vancouver. ICE kachang is a Singapore ice dessert that everyone loves. This colourful Singapore/Malaysian shave ice has heaps of ingredients, peanuts, sweet corns, jello, grass jelly, brown sugar. Must try when you are at Penang Delight.

Little cosy cafe serving South East Asian Cuisine. Can be quite packed during weekends. Taste and serving wise is ok. Slightly pricey but I guess that's what you get for South East Asian food.

Lunch price posted outside is $10.xx, go inside and lunch is $11.xx on the menu. IÒ€ℒll let that slide as price change happens. I have a dairy allergy. I asked if I can substitute the drink on the lunch menu (a specialty creamer coffee or a milk tea) with something else, making sure it is equivalent in price before I asked. She was adamant it can not be done. I asked twice making sure she understood. She said I can forego the drink or pay the regular price of the drink on top of my meal price. Just because they print on the menu to tell them about your allergies, does not mean they care.

This is a very cozy place, I would say it's small but I rather this because they always have enough staff. The food is delicious and there is no much wait for it, we order the Laksa soup and some chicken with rice, both of them where decent price for the amount of chicken and sea food in the soup, definitely will come back. There in the menu the deserts looks great but the food was filled hopefully next time we can eat them

Not the most remarkable first experience here. We just made it there for last call so the service was a bit rushed and not very friendly. I had the asam laksa which I read was suppose to be a bit sour, but I didn't enjoy it. My friends beef laksa was very good, however. I really enjoyed the desserts!

Everything was just fine. A little more expensive than your typical neighbourhood Malaysian restaurant. Ordered Nasi Nanas and I felt the pineapple was too strong and wet. It made the fried rice a bit watery and sour. Or perhaps this is what an authentic nasi nanas should taste like?

A year ago we were here, we were quite happy, this year very disappointing become very expensive for lamb curry with six pieces small meat cube and curry sauce nothing else plus two glasses cendol & ice kacang = $32 plus force tip 10%. wow no wonder not many customers.

Great Malaysian food. I went to their Marpole location 3yrs ago and happened to stop by this one for brunch. I love the Roti Canai. The veggie Nasi Goreng wasn't pretty bland and not flavorful like the one at Banana Leaf, but the waiter did say that without the meat and stuff it's no longer a Malaysian fried rice. No complaints though as everything else was good.
